And as storm clouds gather and a cold wind blows in from the Puget Sound, our thoughts drift to the ultimate belly-warming comfort food: Korean Barbecue. Now, compared to finding Thai, Chinese, or Japanese cuisine, finding Korean BBQ in Seattle is a little harder. But at Seattle's best pot shop, we don't just carry Washington State's best selection of the best flower, edibles, and concentrates — we're also seriously into food. And we don't mind logging extra research hours on behalf of our loyal customers. To that end, we've assembled this short list of the best Korean Barbecue in the greater Seattle area.Old Village Korean BistroStep from the blare of Aurora Avenue into the dark and cozy embrace of this traditional Korean restaurant. The fantastic menu offers a treasure trove of Korean delicacies, ranging from pan-broiled spicy fish cakes to extravaganzas like the Korean Bistro special meal: stewed short rib, bbq bulgogi, grilled fish, steamed egg, soy bean soup, and house salad. A highlight is the exemplary assortment of pickles and sides that come with your order: kimchee, seaweed salad, pickled and sauced radish, and Korean-style potato and carrot salad. The Grill King Korean RestaurantAnother great Aurora Avenue Korean joint, The Grill King features an awesome all-you-can-eat dinner which includes pork belly, thinly sliced beef, marinated chicken, and marinated pork, plus an excellent selection of pickles and sides. Need help getting through this food marathon? Jump start your appetite with premium weed from Fweedom, the best pot shop in the Shoreline area!Hae Nam Kalbi & CalamariAlso located on Aurora Avenue in Shoreline, Hae Nam Kalbi & Calamari is as unassuming as it is authentic. Here you'll find the best bibimbap in town (white rice bowl topped with sautéed vegetables, chili paste, soy sauce, an egg, soy bean paste, and optional beef), but no visit is complete without an order of calamari and pork belly. Served on a gas-powered hot plate, the thinly sliced pork belly is coated in delectable chili calamari paste. We also love the kalbi--a mountain of marinated short ribs and onions carmelizing on a sizzling stone platter. Now that's what we call quality munchies!

Yup, Hemp Deodorant is a Real Thing

The end of prohibition in Washington was exciting for obvious reasons, but now that the smoke has cleared, everyone at Fweedom is really starting to see the scope of impact. One of the most exciting aspects of legalization is the proliferation of cannabis-infused products: rich moisturizing lotions, THC sensual oils, CBD salves, muscle melt sprays, and other soothing ganja topicals. And even if you’re not in the mood to get high, you can still rock your love for our favorite healing plant by legally lathering on a wide variety of hemp oil products, including, recently, weed deodorant. As to this last point…at first we were skeptical. Here at your favorite Seattle pot shop we love the sweet dank smell of premium bud. But we smell like weed enough without applying cannabis love to our underarms! So we were pleased to discover that Rawganique's latest innovation in deodorant doesn’t actually smell like weed, but instead comes in three pleasing scents: lavender, tea-tree oil, and fresh. Plus a totally unscented variety.Actually this product is pretty great. Loaded with natural antibacterial agents, it’s made in the U.S.A, cruelty free, and surprisingly affordable. The company makes roll-on and stick varieties, and both products are free of aluminum chlorydrate, alchohol, parabens, and propylen glycol. Plus, the ingredient list is legit: certified organic hemp seed oil, certified organic aloe vera, purified water, potassium alum, mineral salts, celquat, calendula extract, grapefruit seed extract, and other botanicals such as calendula extract, tea tree oil, certified organic lavender essential oil, witch hazel extract, and coriander extract.Whether you’re looking to get rid of B.O, smell like weed, or just smell weed, Fweedom is the place to be. Roll on down to Seattle’s finest pot shop and check out our cannabis-infused lotions, soothing topical, marijuana wax, delectable weed brownies, THC candies, and killer pre-rolled joints.

Here's Why You're Seeing Terpenes on Labeling

Every year there’s a new industry buzzword, and 2017 was the year of the terpene. Put simply, terpenes are the scent molecules that plants and other organisms use to attract pollinators or repel herbivores. So why are terpenes so important? When it comes to cannabis, terpenes are a vital aspect of the plant’s chemotype, or each plant’s unique chemical profile. Terpenes are the essential oil building blocks of resins, and are thus crucial to a given strain’s unique flavor, aroma, and effects.Cannabis can express at least 120 different terpenes. Let’s look at a few... Eucalpytol, which is also found in rosemary and eucalyptus, has a minty yet spicy aroma and is valued as a pain-reliever. Limonene is a pungent citrus terpene that is known for its relaxing and mood-elevating qualities, as well as its anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. Linalool is a mellowing terpene that brings delicate hints of citrus and flowers. Myrcene, which is also found in parsley and hops, has sedative properties and is used for reducing inflammation. Meanwhile, the ever- popular Pinene delivers the common “piney” flavor and a feeling of alertness. But terpenes are subject to debate. Detractors point out that many terpene-related health benefits have not been scientifically proven, while terpene enthusiasts tout powerful results, claiming that the terpene Delta-3-Carene can combat a runny nose or that Beta-Caryophyllene is a potent anti-inflammatory. So how much of this is hype? It’s hard to say. Here at Fweedom, we say...if it smells good, let’s smoke it!Wondering where to find terpy weed on Aurora Ave? Look no further than Fweedom, Seattle’s finest purveyor of recreational marijuana. Not in town? Check out the menus for our pot shops in Mountlake Terrace and Mt. Vernon for our full range of THC and CBD products, including cannabis wax, glass, pre-rolled joints, tasty pot edibles, and innovative topicals.

The Difference Between Indoor and Outdoor Flower

It's almost autumn, and for outdoor growers, that means it's harvest time. But if you're just a casual smoker, you might not be versed in the difference between indoor and outdoor weed. So allow your favorite pot shop to give you a quick primer! In the 1970s, drug enforcement caused a strange split in the cannabis industry. To hide from helicopters, growers retreated deeper into the hills and did their best to camouflage their crops beneath the forest canopy. Meanwhile, some growers built state-of-the art grow rooms and began experimenting with farming cannabis in controlled conditions. Ultimately, the indoor growers would dominate the market—potent indoor bud would shape customer expectations and demand higher prices. But despite this dominance, outdoor weed continues to have its proponents. Let’s take a look at this age-old debate.A stress-free life cycle?A masterful indoor gardener has the power to control most variables: temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, air movement, food, water, and light spectrum exposure. Simply put, plants growing in this controlled environment don't experience the same stress as outdoor plants that are exposed to wind, rain, and extreme temperatures. Proponents of indoor argue that this stress-free life-cycle produces more vibrant and attractive plants that deliver a notably lighter and smoother smoke.More potent weed?Outdoor growers counter the “stress” argument by claiming that the sun’s natural light spectrum produces more cannabinoids and terpenes, which increase the plant’s flavor, aroma, and potency. And there is some science to back this up—a lab in our very own Washington State compared thousands of samples of outdoor and indoor varieties of the same cannabis strains and found that the outdoor bud tended to contain slightly higher levels of THC.But as any dedicated smoker knows, indoor growers are not exactly strangers to potent weed. So what’s better? It depends on your tastes and your priorities. Outdoor weed is more environmentally friendly—outdoor growing averts the energy suck of a grow room and tends to minimize serious pest infestations. That said, here at Fweedom we know many environmentally conscious indoor growers who are masters of the organic arts. And no true stoner can argue against the beauty and potency of primo indoor weed.At your friendly neighborhood weed store, we enjoy the best of both worlds. And you can too! Swing by our pot shops in Seattle, Mountlake Terrace, and Lynwood to sample Washington’s best indoor and outdoor weed, including delicious cannabis edibles and THC concentrates.

Don't Like to Smoke? Summer is here! Which means that it's time for cookouts, beach parties and pre-gaming at sporting events. Now you can choose to party with a deliciously infused weed soda or drink while hanging out with your friends and family at social events.

There are a variety of flavors and potency's available for marijuana infused drinks, such as Evergreen Herbal's 100mg Strawberry Lemonade Cannabis Quencher. These refreshing drinks are carbonated and mask the flavor of cannabis really well. Instead of getting sloppy drunk on alcohol you can choose the safer alternative and consume cannabis drinks.
With that being said make sure you read the label of the bottle that you are consuming because the drinks come in various different potencies. It can be easy to confuse a 10mg dose with 100mg dose if you aren't paying attention. If you're not used to more than a 10mg dose, you're going to be in for a little bit of a ride at 100mg. You aren't going to die, but you will be very stoned for a while which may be overwhelming for some folks.
Weed sodas have a tendency to kick in quickly as well. Edibles can take up to two hours sometimes to kick in, while sodas can hit as quickly as 15-30 minutes. So be conscious of what you have eaten and how much so you can know your buffer. As with all edibles, start out with a little bit and wait. Once you have learned your tolerance level, you will have a much more enjoyable time consuming edible cannabis. Most edibles are fairly consistent with their dosing in the legal market so you don't have to worry too much about random overdoses.
Check out our online menu for a variety of different weed soda's. On July 23rd the laws in Washington state will also change so that you can now share cannabis with a partner, or a friend and not get arrested for unlicensed distribution.
So stop in your favorite Fweedom location today and check out our delicious selection of weed soda's today!

Terpene Educational Series Part Two

In our last blog post we discussed what terpenes are and a few different examples of terpene producing plants, like oranges! In this blog were going to cover the most common terpenes in cannabis and how to help you find the right terpene profile.
Terpenes play an important role in the overall health and well-being of humans and animals. They are a group of chemical compounds that interact with a variety of different receptors within our bodies. These key-and-lock type of chemical connections allow for biological pathways within our body to be regulated. Terpenes are also known as essential oils. A good example of how their use can change your mood is displayed when using the essential oil of lavender. After being heated and inhaled, the vapor creates a calming effect because the terpene linalool is present in large quantities in lavender.

There are hundreds of different terpenes present in cannabis and they are produced in varying levels. This gives cannabis its wide range of different fragrances, as well as its physiological and mental effects when consumed. Beta caryophyllene is the most common terpene present in cannabis, according to 2008 study titled 'Beta caryophyllene is a dietary cannabinoid' by Gertsch et al. that was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The study states that beta caryophyllene can make up to 35% of the terpene profile in cannabis. Other common terpenes in cannabis are myrcene, linalool and limonene. These terpenes make up some very popular cultivars like Blue Dream where linalool is the predominant terpene in that strain's profile.
Using resources like Analytical 360’s website, which posts terpene profiles for their tests, will help guide you to what kind of high you are looking for. Do you want that uplifting high for a nice summer afternoon smoke? Or how about that crushing stoned feeling to help you get to sleep at night? Check out our next installment in this series, for more information on the wonderful world of terpenes.
